Ohio State announced Wednesday afternoon that beer and wine sales would be expanded at the Jerome Schottenstein Center starting on Sunday, November 15 when the men's basketball team takes on Mount St. Mary's.
The university had been selling beer and wine at the suite level at Ohio Stadium during the fall in a pilot program experimenting with alcohol sales, and the announcement to sell beer and wine at the Schott is an extension of that program. The sales will occur in the entry and terrace level of the arena, and will be available for women's basketball and men's hockey events.
The arena had already had beer and wine available to those in the club level since the building opened in 1998, so consider this experiment as possibly being the next step for full alcohol sales in Ohio Stadium. It would be quite the money making venture for the university, which would more than likely increase the chances of it happening.
