Ohio State vs. Minnesota 2015: GameThread

Just when the QB controversy seemed to have ended, we find Barrett suspended for a game and Jones back under center.

Jesse Johnson-USA TODAY Sports

Ohio State had a bye last week, and some unfortunate choices have found us set to face Minnesota without J.T. Barrett, who is serving his one-game suspension this week. The loss of Barrett comes right after his impressive return to the starting role two weeks ago versus Rutgers, when he led the Buckeyes to a 49-7 routing of the Scarlet Knights.

It was an excellent game for the young quarterback, who both ran and passed for over 100 yards. He wasn't the only with with triple digit stats, though, as Ezekiel Elliott barreled his way to 142 yards rushing and 2 TDs, extending his streak of 100+ yard games to 13. Noticeably quiet during the Rutgers game was Braxton Miller, who rushed the ball once, caught it twice, and never managed to make it to the end zone. Things could be different tonight, though, as Miller is listed on the depth chart as the backup QB to Cardale Jones, who returns to the starting spot. While we've seen Miller take some snaps this season in the Wildcat formation (if it still counts as a Wildcat when the guy was a QB for most of his career), this could potentially be the first time since the 2013 season that we truly see Braxton Miller, quarterback.
