The Ohio State Buckeyes lost their top spot in the AP Poll to Clemson this week, the first time the Buckeyes had not been ranked the top team in the poll all season. Ohio State did keep their top ranking in the Amway Coaches Poll by a narrow margin. Cardale Jones and company led the Buckeyes to another win, keeping the perfect season alive with a 28-14 win. The Buckeyes received 26 of 61 first place votes in the AP Poll, and 34 of 64 first place votes in the Coaches Poll.

Ohio State came in at No. 2 in this week's AP Poll. Alabama came in at No. 3, followed by Baylor at No. 4. Losses by TCU and LSU dropped them to No. 13 and No. 9 respectively. Oklahoma State rounded out the top five for this week. Michigan State dropped from No. 6 to No. 14 after their heartbreaking loss to Nebraska this weekend, by a close 39-38 margin.

Memphis and Florida State both dropped in the poll after their respective losses this past weekend. Memphis came in at No. 25 after losing to Navy at home, and Florida State dropped to No. 19 after losing to Clemson on the road. Ole Miss, Toledo, and Texas A&M dropped out of the poll after suffering losses this weekend.

Newcomers to the AP Poll included Navy at No. 22, Wisconsin at No. 23, and Northwestern at No. 24.

Alabama moved up to No. 4 this week after beating LSU in Tuscaloosa, and shutting down Heisman frontrunner Leonard Fournette. LSU dropped to No. 9 after the loss.

TCU fell to No. 12, after taking a 49-29 shellacking at the hands of Oklahoma State in Stillwater. Oklahoma State appeared at No. 5 this week. Florida State dropped to No. 18 after losing to Clemson in Death Valley, as well as Memphis, who dropped to No. 25 after losing to Navy 45-20.

Ole Miss dropped out of the poll after losing to Arkansas on one of the crazier finishes we have seen to a college football game. The Toledo Rockets dropped out of the poll after losing to Northern Illinois Tuesday night. Newcomers to the poll include Northwestern at No. 24, Navy at No. 23, and Wisconsin at No. 22.
