Ohio State jumps to No. 6 in the latest College Football Playoff Top 25

The Buckeyes big win in Michigan helped them move up in this week's rankings.

After a 42-13 beatdown of the Michigan Wolverines in Ann Arbor this past Saturday, along with the help of losses from teams ahead of them, the Ohio State Buckeyes came in this week at No. 6 in the latest College Football Playoff Top 25.

Clemson, Alabama, Oklahoma, Iowa, and Michigan State appear to be the top five teams that control their own destiny at this point in the season. Clemson knocked off rival South Carolina in Columbia this past weekend 37-32. Alabama took their fourth Iron Bowl in five years, 28-13.

Oklahoma continued to impress, destroying Oklahoma State in Stillwater 58-23. Iowa knocked off Nebraska in Lincoln to secure their 12-0 regular season. Michigan State handled Penn State's struggling offense with ease, and lit up the scoreboard themselves, 55-16.

Clemson will be facing North Carolina for the ACC title. Alabama gets Florida in Atlanta for the SEC Championship, and Iowa and Michigan State will face off for the Big Ten title and a College Football Playoff berth.

The Buckeyes will need help from the teams in front of them, as they will not be a participant in the Big Ten title game, and while their odds at a playoff birth are very long, it's possible.
