Phil Jackson expected to be fined for D'Angelo Russell comments, per report

The legendary NBA Coach and current Knicks President is in some lukewarm water after his visit to Columbus.

It was a big night in Columbus with the Buckeye basketball team beating Nebraska and finally ending an away-game losing streak. Not only were fans excited to finally be winning, but New York Knicks President and NBA legend Phil Jackson was in attendance doing a little scouting work on D'Angelo Russell.

Russell had a mediocre performance for him (per usual incredibly lofty standards), scoring just 11 points in 26 minutes of play; cramping kept him from playing towards the end of the game, but Jackson was still able to see his potential. With the Knicks struggling this season, they might get a high lottery pick and Russell is someone high on the list.

Jackson made one mistake as he was leaving the Schottenstein Center; when asked about potential NBA draft lottery pick D'Angelo Russell, he noted to cleveland.com, "He's a great-looking kid. Great prospect."

These few short words are unfortunately expected to land Jackson a fine from the NBA for making comments about a draft-ineligible player, but at least they were good words about the Buckeye.
