At 1 pm. Eastern, we'll finally learn where Porter Gustin, a high four-star linebacker from Salem, UT, will make his college choice. Gustin, a dominating multi-sport athlete at 6'5, 245 pounds, will decide between USC, Ohio State, Arizona State, and his hometown Utah Utes.
For most of his recruitment process, Gustin was thought to be a heavy USC lean, and even at this point, the Trojans are likely still the favorite to land Gustin's services, but the Buckeyes have made a hard charge late in the process. Ohio State had the last official visit, and all signs point to Gustin having had an excellent time in Columbus.
Should the Buckeyes land Gustin's services, given their depth at linebacker, it's probable that Gustin would be used as more of a defensive end and pure pass rusher, not unlike Joey Bosa. Given Ohio State's success at that position group, Urban's ties to the state of Utah given his tenure as Utah's head coach (the Buckeyes have already lifted one prospect from The Beehive State already for this class), and the Buckeyes' momentum after winning the national championship, anything is certainly possible.
