Already coming into national signing day with one of the top overall classes in the country, Urban Meyer and the Buckeyes have received a pledge from another senior standout this morning.
Spurning his home state Maryland Terrapins, class of 2015 offensive tackle Isaiah Prince announced he will continue his education and football playing days for the national champion Ohio State Buckeyes. The U.S. Army All-American is now the sixth offensive lineman to join the Elite '15.
His decision comes just over a week after the 6'6, 272 pound-lineman made an official visit to the OSU campus.
A former Alabama verbal commit, Prince, the seventh offensive tackle and 105th-overall prospect in the 2015 class according to the 247Sports Composite, earned scholarships from over 20 programs throughout the recruiting process. Florida, Georgia, LSU, Louisville, Michigan, and Penn State are just a few of the other schools who offered Isaiah a chance to play for their team.
Our Christopher Jason had the following to say about what Prince brings to the table:
Isaiah Prince has good length (6'6) but lacks some mass in his lower body. At 272 pounds, he will need a redshirt season to gain weight. He has the mentality and physicality to play tackle at Ohio State, he just needs a healthy dose of Mickey Marotti and Ed Warriner before getting a chance to eventually crack the deep offensive line depth chart. He needs to work on firing low off of the ball but he does a good job of finishing blocks and playing to the whistle. Overall, Prince has the basics to eventually succeed but it may take some time.
