The ACC-Big Ten Challenge will almost certainly be Ohio State's best chance to get a marquee opponent to come to Columbus for this season, and now we know who the Buckeyes fill face. Ohio State will host Virginia on December 1, according to ESPN's Brett McMurphy, joining neutral site games against Memphis and Kentucky, and a true road game at UConn, on the Buckeye schedule.
Virginia will represent a very stiff test for Ohio State, and not just because of their trademark swarming defense. The Cavaliers went 30-4 last season, earning a #1 seed, and finished 5th in KenPom. While Justin Anderson isn't coming back, most of Virginia's team is, including Malcolm Brogdon, and the Cavaliers are a mainstay in preseason top 10 lists. Along with Duke and North Carolina, Virginia is expected to contend for an ACC title.
Ohio State is 3-1 all time against UVA, but the two teams haven't played since 1981 (UVA won that game, 89-73). With two potential top ten teams on the schedule, plus a demanding Big Ten slate, the Buckeyes will certainly be tested this coming season.
