Ohio State's Pat Porter, 3 others named 2015 All-Big Ten baseball

Four Ohio State baseball standouts were honored by the league for their great 2015 seasons.

Ohio State senior Pat Porter headlines four Buckeyes given 2015 All-Big Ten conference baseball honors Tuesday early afternoon. The outfielder from Chagrin Falls, OH hit a team best .332 with 10 HRs, 48 RBI and 114 total bases. Porter was also named a 2015 Big Ten sportsmanship award honoree.

Joining Porter receiving all-conference honors is sophomore OF Troy Montgomery, who was named to the All-Big Ten second team. Montgomery hit .320 with 22 extra base hits to go along with 27 RBI and 35 stolen bases.

Senior lefty Ryan Riga, one of several strong Buckeye starters this year, was named to the All-Big Ten third team. Riga went 5-3 in 14 appearances (13 starts) and carries a 3.10 ERA to go along with 64 strikeouts.

Rounding out the Buckeyes receiving honors, freshman starting pitcher Adam Niemeyer was named to the All-Big Ten freshman team. The redshirt freshman righty went 2-0 with a 2.16 ERA and 21 strikeouts in the regular season.
