Bovada released updated Heisman Trophy odds today, and they're reflective of Ezekiel Elliott's announcement from earlier:
After 2 surgeries and 9 months of casts and wrist braces my left wrist has finally been cleared
— EzekielElliott#⃣1⃣5⃣ (@EzekielElliott) May 20, 2015
After battling wrist issues for the better part of last season and the spring, Elliott has finally been cleared for full, unrestricted contact in practice. Evidently, that's enough for Las Vegas to take notice. Elliott was bumped up into the pole position to take the award that will be given to the nation's top player in 2015-16 with 6-to-1 odds to do so. Another back, sophomore Leonard Fournette of LSU, is hot on his heels at 15-to-2.
Elliot's not the only Buckeye listed as a betting option either. Cardale Jones has the sixth-best odds to win the trophy at 12-to-1, while Braxton Miller (25/1) and JT Barrett (28/1) are listed with the 15th and 16th best odds, respectively.
Here's the full list, courtesy of Bovada.lv:
