The Buckeyes are once again well on their way to signing a top notch recruiting class come February. Already blessed with 15 talented prospects in the class so far this cycle, Urban Meyer and the Ohio State coaching staff learned they are still in the mix to land a pledge from one of the most elite defensive linemen in the class of 2016 over the weekend.
On Saturday afternoon four-star defensive tackle Chris Daniels of Trinity High School in Euless, Texas announced his top 10 college list via his Twitter page. Landing over 20 scholarship offers throughout the process, the 6'3, 300-pound standout stated in a video clip that he currently has a short list of Texas A&M, Baylor, Ole Miss, Michigan, TCU, Ohio State, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Washington, and Miami.
With plenty of stellar options on the table, Chris listed prestige, location, coaches, family, and childhood dreams as a few of the things that will come into play when he finally sits down and makes his college commitment known to the world.
Looked as a long-shot to leave the Southwest at the moment, if the Buckeyes end up getting Daniels on campus things could change in a hurry as the national champions have a more than solid track record of shocking the recruiting world after playing host to elite recruits.
According to the 247Sports Composite Rankings, Daniels is currently the 14th defensive tackle and 114th-overall prospect in the class of 2016.

Wade to visit
Next Sunday many of the top prospects in the Midwest will flock to Columbus in hopes to earn a chance to participate at The Opening later this summer during the camp's regional combine held on the Ohio State campus.
Every year a long list of recruits takes the opportunity to also visit OSU the day before the camp. One of this year's prospects who will check out the Ohio State facilities is class of 2017 cornerback Lamont Wade of Clairton High School in Clairton, Pennsylvania.

Wade, a 5'10, 185-pound, four-star recruit who holds scholarship offers from not just Ohio State, but also programs such as Penn State, Pittsburgh, and West Virginia, received his offer from the Buckeyes in early March and made a trip to Columbus just a couple weeks after adding OSU to his list of scholarships.
Even though Wade has more than two years to make up his mind, and a long list of potential landing spots under his belt, The Buckeyes are thought to be major contenders in his recruitment alongside the aforementioned Nittany Lions, Panthers, and Mountaineers.
