Ohio Stadium to host the Cleveland Browns scrimmage Aug. 7

The Shoe will see some action before the Buckeyes take the field this season, when the Browns take the stage on Aug. 7.

Several former Ohio State players, along with controversial figure Johnny Manziel, will head to Columbus for this year's Orange and Brown Scrimmage game. The scrimmage will be Friday, Aug. 7, time still to be determined, but the event will be free for all fans and tickets will be available starting June 20.

Coming back to play in the Shoe is going to be a great memory for former Buckeyes like Donte Whitner and Brian Hartline, and a fun experience for Browns players who never had the chance to play in the historic venue.

"It's going to be huge for us," Whitner said. "It means a lot to me personally because I lived in Columbus, played for the Buckeyes and know what type of fan base is there for the Buckeyes and for the Cleveland Browns. It'll be special."

Columbus is a great choice to host an NFL event. Browns fans or not, locals love football.
