According to an Ohio State spokesman (via Buckeye Sports Bulletin's Jeff Svoboda), OSU head coach Urban Meyer underwent an unexpected medical procedure though could've been in the hospital overnight, but per multiple media reports, was released after an apparently uneventful procedure. The Findlay Courier reports Meyer had an emergency appendectomy.
Earlier Wednesday morning, the University of Findlay announced that an event scheduled to feature the Buckeyes head coach was canceled citing "health reasons". Meyer was also expected to throw out the first pitch at Friday's Yankees game in the Bronx as part of an Ohio State themed evening at Yankees Stadium. It's not known whether or not he'll still make the trip to New York but it was expected that he would earlier Wednesday.
The Buckeyes' spokesperson added (also per Svoboda) that Meyer "will be all right."
