The 2015 MLB Draft was entering Day 3 and Round 11 and yet only one Buckeye had heard his name called. Wednesday proved a much better day for Ohio State baseball hopefuls as both southpaw P Ryan Riga and RF Pat Porter finally heard their names called in this year's first-year player draft.
It was only a few months ago when Ryan Riga was setting school records and making a big name for himself in the college baseball world. Thanks to a great senior season, he now owns the longest scoreless inning streak in Ohio State baseball history at 29 innings.
Senior Pat Porter is great in the outfield but also shines at the plate. His final year at Ohio State included 210 at-bats, for 71 hits, 49 RBIs, 11 home runs and a .338 batting average. He'll be making his way down to Houston to embark on the next step in his career.
