The Buckeyes have added another huge piece to the class of 2016 recruiting puzzle. After having OSU out in front for his services since receiving his offer last summer, four-star wide receiver Austin Mack has verbally committed to continue his education and next step of his football career at Ohio State.
Announcing his decision during the FAS camp held in his hometown of Fort Wayne, IN on Sunday, Mack, the Buckeyes' 16th pledge of the cycle, chose to suit up for Urban Meyer and the national champions over scholarship offers from programs such as Michigan, Notre Dame, and Tennessee.
As a junior the 6'2 205-pound standout accounted for 1,062 receiving yards and 15 touchdowns to help lead his Bishop Luers squad in an overall record of 11-3.
According to the 247Sports Composite Rankings, Austin is currently considered the 24th ranked wide out, and 139th overall prospect in the class of 2016. After turning heads at the regional event held on the Ohio State campus last weekend, the newest Buckeye will have the chance to improve his stock next month going up against many other highly rated recruits at Nike's The Opening, an annual camp held at their headquarters in Beaverton, OR.
