BOOOOOOM!

Student Sports

Danny Clark, Todd Sibley, Bruce Judson, Josh Myers, and the rest of the other 2017 Ohio State verbal commits have a new classmate. Four star Winton Woods High School junior defensive tackle Jerron Cage is now the eighth standout recruit to give Urban Meyer, and the Buckeye coaching staff a verbal pledge.

Cage, the top 17th defensive tackle, and 225th overall prospect in the class of 2017, according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings, chose OSU over scholarship offers from Cincinnati, Kentucky, Louisville, and Illinois. Even though they didn't offer him before his commitment, Michigan State, and Notre Dame, where his older brother Daniel plays were also in the picture.

Last season as a sophomore for Winton Woods, the 6'3, 275-pound Cage accounted for 40 tackles, and 10 sacks for the Warriors  who finished the 2014 campaign off 5-4, after making a deep state playoff run in 2013.
