Delance names top five

Four-star '16 OT Jean Delance, a Texas native much like QB commit Tristen Wallace, announced his top five programs on Twitter last night and the good news for the Buckeyes is that they made the group. The nation's 12th-best offensive tackle also included Alabama, arch-rival Michigan, and in-state programs Texas and Texas A&M in his final five.

The former Oklahoma commitment is currently graded as the 100th-best prospect in the class and the 16th-best player in the Lone Star State. While Ohio State doesn't seem to be a major player at the moment for Delance, we will see if things change in the coming months. Most importantly, the Buckeyes have to get the mammoth tackle on campus for a visit sooner rather than later.

Hansford to officially visit Bucks

When it comes to the remaining possibilities to fill out the current 2016 class, one name that doesn't get as much recognition as it should is '16 LB Aaron Hansford. The three-star OLB is a current teammate of Ohio State commit Terrell Hall at St. John's College in D.C.

Early Wednesday morning,'s Brian Dohn got word that Hansford, a 6'2, 210-pounder, would be making an official visit to Ohio State on September 12 for the game against Hawaii. Dohn also revealed that the Hansford is planning to officially visit Florida, Notre Dame, Oregon, and UCLA as well. We'll see if the 247Sports Crystal Ball reads correctly, which means the Buckeyes would be pulling two prospects out of the District of Columbia.

Kmet sees Buckeye campus

Despite holding commitments from both Luke Farrell and Jake Hausmann in this year's recruiting cycle at the tight end position, the Buckeyes are already trying to make an impression on the No. 6 ranked tight end in next year's class. According to 247Sports' Tom Loy, Ohio State received a visit from '17 TE Cole Kmet of St. Viator (IL) on Tuesday.

Kmet is a 6'5, 230-pounder who already holds offers from Baylor, Notre Dame, Louisville, Ohio State, and more. It'll be interesting to see how things play out in regards to this position in the 2017 class because '17 TE Matt Dotson is another that could very well be considered the top TE on the Bucks' board. Kmet is currently predicted to wind up as a member of the Fighting Irish.

247Sports ranks Top 100 for 2018

Last night, released their initial Top 100 rankings for the 2018 recruiting class. Looking at the list, you will notice a few prospects that hail from the state of Ohio are included. Finding himself at No. 19 on the list is '18 RB Jaelen Gill from Westerville South (OH). Gill already holds an offer from the Buckeyes and will surely be one of their top targets in the class. The three other Ohio natives on the list include '18 TE Leonard Taylor (No. 21) and '18 LB Antwuan Johnson (No. 70), who are both from Springfield (OH), and '18 CB L'Christian Smith (No. 92) of Wayne (OH).

The Top 100 group is also littered with some out-of-state prospects who have already been awarded with an Ohio State offer and we'll see where they landed. Zamir White (No. 2), Tyreke Johnson (No. 9), Taron Vincent (No. 18), Joey Gatewood (No. 23), Ricky Slade Jr. (No. 24), Jermaine Eskridge (No. 26), Teradja Mitchell (No. 37), and Asante Samuel Jr. (No. 55).
