Ohio State had a boom back on Fourth of July (appropriately enough). On Thursday, a little less than a week later, the Buckeyes went back to the well, this time for a top 2016 recruiting target.
5'11, 187 pound Norfolk, VA (Lake Taylor) product Wayne Davis gave his commitment to the Ohio State recruiting think tank Thursday afternoon. Grading out as a four-star on the 247Sports composite ranking, Davis checks in as 320th nationally overall, the 29th best corner, and the eighth best player from the state of Virginia.
As just a three-star in 247Sports' actual ratings, expect his tape to get a nice revisit following his commitment to the Bucks.
