Ohio State recruiting: State Secrets - You have to see this OSU kicker commit really boom it

2016 defensive tackle Antwuan Jackson is set to announce this week. Will he pick the Buckeyes?

The Ohio State Buckeyes are currently in the thick of two-a-days as we are just weeks away from the start of the season. Black stripes continue to be removed each day, there are various reports about different kids stepping up in practice -- really, everything that a Buckeye fan would want to hear. Furthermore, with it being the annual "hell week" of fall camp, earth-shattering recruiting news isn't always flowing in at the rate we're used to. That was the case on Tuesday, on a relatively quiet day on the recruiting trail. However, there is a key announcement scheduled to take place this week.

Jackson announcing this week

In case you didn't hear, 2016 defensive tackle Antwuan Jackson is reportedly making his commitment this week. Jackson attended Friday Night Lights last month and after the camp ended, the Ohio State coaching staff felt extremely good with where they stood with the four-star prospect. Since them however, Jackson has had time to reconnect with other schools and keep his options open. At the time of Friday Night Lights, Jackson was quite possibly being penciled in as a member of the class, but the longer he prolongs his decision then the more reason there is to not feel as optimistic. Jackson is the number eight rated tackle in the country and checks in at an enormous 6'3, 285 pounds. He's a true defensive tackle that will demand double teams and eat up holes. The Georgia native holds 42 offers and would be a monster addition to this class. Urban Meyer has fared quite well in the Peach State during his tenure in Columbus and he's looking to add another. The Buckeyes are in on a couple elite 2017 defensive tackles already, including four-star commit Jerron Cage, and adding Antwuan Jackson to the mix would create great depth at a spot that may be the most lacking on this season's roster. Most believe that this is an Auburn-Ohio State battle as we head down the home stretch of this recruitment. Auburn obviously has the advantage of being closer to home, but Jackson has been to Columbus multiple times and has spoken highly of the Buckeyes in whatever chance he's been given. An announcement should happen the later part of this week.

Haubeil shows off leg

Current kicker commit Blake Haubeil, who is part of the class of 2017, has impressed people in the camp circuits that he's been on this summer. He's rated the number one kicker in his class and continuing trying to better himself before his junior season gets underway. Here's a video of the Ohio native showing off his massive leg, drilling a 61-yard field goal during practice.
