Gray to visit this weekend
When it comes to the 2017 recruiting class, Ohio State already has secured commitments from Jake Moretti and Josh Myers at the offensive tackle position. However, a player that they certainly wouldn't mind joining them would be '17 OT Tony Gray from Central Gwinnett (GA), the same program that produced former Buckeye signee Trey Johnson.
Gray is a 6'5, 263-pounder who holds offers from plenty of the nations best programs. Ohio State, Alabama, Auburn, Clemson, Florida, Florida State, Georgia, and LSU are just a few programs that are hoping to land the four-star quarterback protector.
The Buckeyes will get their opportunity to leave a good impression on the standout offensive tackle this weekend. According to ESPN's Gerry Hamilton, Gray will be in Columbus on Saturday to see campus after a visit to Kentucky later today. Gray is currently graded as the 119th overall player in his class, the 18th best offensive tackle, and the 14th best player from the state of Georgia. We'll see if the coaching staff can blow away the peach tree prospect. The in-state Bulldogs currently lead the way in the 247Sports Crystal Ball.
Hoops prospect sees OSU
A new name came about on the Ohio State hoops radar on Thursday. According to Corey Evans of Hoop Seen, '17 PG Jay Jay Chandler, a four-star prospect from the state of Texas, made a visit to see the Buckeye campus yesterday. According to the story from Evans, Chandler has family ties to the state of Ohio, so we will see if that gives the Buckeyes any help in their recruitment.
As of now though, the Cinco Ranch (TX) star has yet to receive an offer from the Scarlet and Gray. He does have offers from schools like Oklahoma, Texas A&M, and Virginia Tech at the moment. We'll see if the visit to the Buckeye campus opens the staffs eyes and maybe a potential offer will come his way.
