For Ohio State, each day is full of competition. Whether it's on the field, in the weight room, or on the recruiting front, Ohio State has set the standard for excellence. The Buckeye football staff is tirelessly working, not only with the current roster, but for future rosters as well. Thursday was another one of those days where the Ohio State staff left their mark.

New offer to 2017 OL prospect

The Sunshine State is one that has been very good to the Buckeyes as of late and has been a priority for Urban Meyer and staff since Meyer's arrival in Columbus. It's no surprise either how important Florida is in recruiting efforts with their amount of talent each year. Lately, the Ohio State staff has had their way in Florida and they look to keep that trend going by sending offers out to many of the state's premier talents.

Yesterday, per his twitter, Robert Hainsey, of Bradenton, Florida announced that he had been offered by Ohio State to round out his list of sixteen total offers. Hainsey attends the prestigious IMG Academy where current 2016 Buckeye commits Malik Barrow and Tyler Gerald also call home. The teammate of the current OSU commits is currently ranked by 247sports as a 4-star prospect, the fifth overall player in the state of Florida for 2017, and the twenty-third overall prospect at his position. With great size, there's no surprise why the 6-foot-4, 263 pound offensive tackle has sixteen offers and his most recent coming from the reigning national champs. As of right now, the 247Sports Crystal Ball predicts Hainsey to end up at Penn State, but with the Ohio State offer now in his pocket, look for Urban Meyer and staff to play a real role in his recruiting process.

OSU offers 2017 RB

In sticking with the Thursday night trend, another 2017 prospect took to his Twitter to again announce that he had received an offer from the Buckeyes. This time, it was Nashville, Tennessee's Ty Chandler on the receiving end of the Ohio State offer. The 2017 running back is listed at 5'11, 190 pounds and currently holds nine offers, including Ohio State. Obviously, Urban and staff see star power in this back, as he is currently ranked by 247Sports as the ninth-best back in the 2017 class and the fifth-best prospect in the state of Tennessee.

It will be interesting to see where the relationship between Chandler and Ohio State goes as the Buckeyes currently have three running back commits in Kareem Walker, Demario McCall, and George Hill in the 2016 class and Todd Sibley in the 2017 class. With Sibley already pegged as a Buckeye commit in the 2017 class and rumors of Georgia's Trey Sermon being another strong running back Buckeye lean for 2017, Chandler's offer is definitely appealing. The Montgomery Bell Academy product is predicted to head to Ole Miss according to the 247Sports Crystal Ball as of now.

Hansard continues to feel the love

If Fred Hansard is a name that sounds familiar, it's no mistake. Ohio State is in full pursuit mode of the nation's best defensive tackles and Hansard continues to be a top priority. In the past, we have talked with Fred about his recruitment, and there's no mistaking his interest in Ohio State. The New Jersey prospect took to Twitter yesterday to show his latest pieces of mail from the nation's top graphic design team. Needless to say, Hansard is feeling the Buckeyes.
