Big news surfaced on Monday that Ohio State finally sent an offer out to five-star linebacker Mique Juarez. Juarez committed to USC last January and continued to turn heads throughout the summer camp circuit and through the early part of his senior season. News just as big was reported yesterday, when it came out that Juarez is now planning on using one of his official visits on Ohio State. At this point and time, this is exactly where the Buckeyes need to be to have a shot in this recruitment.

Yes, it will take some magic to eventually flip Juarez, but the mutual interest seems to be there in a big way. There's no question that Ohio State has recruited the linebacker position at an elite level the last few years, and a commitment from Juarez would elevate it even more. He has size at 6'2 and 222 pounds, but also relies heavily on his athleticism to make plays in the backfield and at the line of scrimmage. As he is from California, the two Los Angeles schools are the favorite right now, but look for things to shake up after his Columbus visit happens down the road.

Hines hearing from Bucks

Anthony Hines got his Tuesday started early as he was one of Urban Meyer's first calls of the day. Hines, a 2017 linebacker from Texas, holds 74 offers and is one of the most productive linebackers in his class. Hines and Ohio State have been in contact for some time as he's nothing new to the recruiting circuit, obviously. Currently, Oklahoma is the favorite according to 247Sports crystal ball, but like always, Urban Meyer will keep the Buckeyes in this and try to win him at the end. There's still a year and a half left of his recruitment. Hines will be one to watch the rest of this fall, but more importantly, over next summer to see if he spends an unofficial visit to Ohio State.

OSU staying on Gary Trent

To the hardwood, Thad Matta visited with 2017 shooting guard Gary Trent Jr. yesterday. Trent, a five-star prospect from Minnesota, is an elite talent with offers from a handful of the biggest programs in the country. The Buckeyes are definitely in the thick of the race for Trent and appear to be in the number two spot on his list right behind Duke at the moment. We've seen Matta go into other states and take some big-time prospects, so landing Trent wouldn't be that big of a surprise. Ohio State is persistent with Trent as they also visited him earlier this month. Nonetheless, this one is far from over and the Buckeyes are in striking distance early in this process.
