The countdown is on, and make no mistake about it, the Ohio State football coaching staff and players have one thing on their minds: Beating Virginia Tech on Labor Day night. However, in the midst of game week, the coaching staff is still in pursuit for the best talent in the country to bring yet another championship to Columbus.

Ever since Monday night at midnight and into Tuesday morning, 2017 prospects have been seeing nonstop communication from college football staffs all over the nation. Ohio State is hard at work already in 2017 and with that hard work, they currently have the nation's top ranked class for 2017 as well as this year's 2016 class. With the ability to finally contact 2017 prospects without any restrictions, look for Ohio State to add new names in the recruiting cycle.

2017 RB hears from Ohio State

It is no secret at all the amount of talent Ohio State possess at the running back position. With Heisman hopeful Ezekiel Elliott at the helm and a pool of other talented running backs in Tony Alford's room, Ohio State's running back tradition continues to be atop all of college football.

When it comes to future running backs at Ohio State, 2016 sees Kareem Walker, George Hill, and Demario McCall. On to 2017, Ohio State already has a commitment from Akron, Ohio's Todd Sibley. With so many running back prospects already committed, you would think Ohio State's coaching staff would look to other positions to recruit the nation's top talent. However, that is not the case. Ohio State is strongly pursuing Marietta, Georgia's Trey Sermon and now it looks as if they are branching out to another southern running back prospect. Via his Twitter account, Kyshaun Bryan is also hearing from Ohio State's staff. Bryan hails from a school that is no stranger to Buckeye fans as he attends American Heritage High School in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Kyshaun is currently ranked as the fourteenth overall running back in the 2017 class and holds a 4-star ranking according to 247sports.com. With true running back size standing at 5-foot-10 and 190 pounds, Bryan has the size and quickness to be electric on the field. With current Crystal Ball predictions showing the home state Florida Gators having the edge in his recruitment, it will be interesting to see if Ohio State is a true player for his services.

2017 Ohio TE gets mail

Cincinnati Archbishop Moeller has been good to Ohio State as of late with its tight ends. Current 2016 Buckeye commit Jake Hausmann is from the Moeller squad and is currently playing in his final season before he gets to Columbus next fall. Another TE prospect from the Crusaders is 2017 TE Matt Dotson. Dotson currently has an offer from Ohio State and make no mistake about it, he is a top priority for the coaching staff as this was the scene at his mailbox today.

Wade hears from OSU

In keeping with the mail theme, Ohio State continues to be right in the ear of 2017 CB prospect Lamont Wade. Wade is currently the seventh-best prospect at his position, the number two overall player in the state of Pennsylvania, and holds a 4-star ranking according to 247sports.com. With Wade being a top target for Ohio State, he will obviously be hearing from the staff regularly and it started yesterday as Wade, per his Twitter account, mentioned he received twenty-five pieces of mail from the Ohio State football program. Currently, the majority of 247sports Crystal Ball predictions have Wade choosing the Buckeyes as his college destination. Ohio State will be in this race all the way until the end as Wade would be a great get for the 2017 class.
