Ohio State WR/H-back Jalin Marshall declares for the 2016 NFL Draft

The Buckeyes' wide receiver/H-back and return specialist will depart Ohio State early.

Ohio State wide receiver/H-back and punt return specialist Jalin Marshall has decided to forego his future eligibility at Ohio State, and throw his hat into the 2016 NFL Draft.

In his 26 games as a Buckeye, Marshall accumulated 69 receptions for 947 yards and 11 touchdowns. Marshall also rushed 26 times for 160 yards and one score. The Middletown, Ohio native also returned 48 punts for 589 yards and one touchdown.

Marshall's versatility should serve him well in the NFL. While he isn't the tallest receiver out there, his speed should lead to him being used similarly to a Percy Harvin, like Meyer used him at Ohio State. Marshall is great after the catch, and the silence is deafening from the opposition holding their breath whenever he gets his hands on the ball.

It would have been great to have Marshall at Ohio State for another season in the scarlet and gray, but Dontre Wilson, who appeared in just four games this season with the Buckeyes should make for a pretty good replacement, if healthy.
