Vegas thinks Ohio State will bounce back against Northwestern, win by 23 or more

A surprising spread after what we saw Saturday in Happy Valley.

Contrary to what many Ohio State faithful expected, the sun did indeed rise this morning.

Accordingly, the Buckeyes are on to the next one as they have to prepare in short order to take on a suddenly plucky Northwestern Wildcats.

While Pat Fitzgerald’s in-game game theory is always open to scrutiny, his old school motivational tactics anecdotally seem to be doing their job as NU has recovered nicely from a bad early season 9-7 loss to FCS Illinois State and are playing some of the best football in the Big Ten at the moment.

Despite consecutive wins against Iowa, Michigan State, and Indiana, Vegas isn’t sold on the Wildcats, and even with everything Ohio State showed (and failed to show) Saturday at night under the stars, the Buckeyes have opened as 23-point favorites. Some early Sunday morning smaller book’s lines had the Buckeyes with as big as a 24-point edge.

It’s awfully tough to see a four score win in the cards after Ohio State struggled to find themselves offensively for around the second or third consecutive week. But if you’re a gambler, do you feel confident enough to pick the Bucks to fail to cover for the third time in as many weeks?

What say you?
