A day after Carlos Hyde and Ezekiel Elliott went head to head to make a claim to be the NFL’s leading rusher, their heir apparent at Ohio State, Mike Weber, was honored for his outstanding showing Saturday.
After carrying the ball 14 times for 144 yards and a touchdown -- including runs of 46 and 49 yards -- Weber received the honor in what's been a loaded year for Big Ten newcomers.
Weber helped pace the Bucks to a 58-0 victory and in the process became the leading rusher in the Big Ten. Weber stands as the 11th leading rusher in all of FBS football and is averaging 123.8 yards per game through four contests.
Weber and the Buckeyes take on Indiana Saturday at 3:30 p.m. in Ohio Stadium.
