Urban Meyer was on the Big Ten coaches teleconference Tuesday and announced that Dontre Wilson has been cleared to play on Saturday against Michigan. This will be Wilson’s last regular season game as a Buckeye, and is hoping to add to his 26 receptions for 343 yards and six total touchdowns this year. The versatile offensive weapon has battled injuries for most of his career, but will at least be able to finish out his senior campaign at home the right way.
Wilson, despite some inconsistencies, has also contributed on kick and punt returns. Fumbles on the latter ultimately cost him that role.
Meyer also noted that transfer wide receiver Corey Smith “might play” against the Wolverines. The head coach also discussed the ever pressing importance of Michigan week, to which he replied, “It’s a year-round preparation. It’s something we take very seriously.”
