To say that Ohio State’s offense was struggling against Michigan would be a dramatic understatement. Completely unable to get ahead of schedule, pass protect with consistency or hit players in stride, the Buckeyes failed to sustain any drive after their first, and looked to head into halftime trailing 3-0, or perhaps worse.
They needed a big play in the worst way. And well, who else to deliver but their best playmakers on defense?
After an excellent punt pinned the Wolverines deep in their own territory, a blitz from Raekwon McMillan forced this errant throw, right into Malik Hooker’s hands. And guess what he did with it?
He returned it for a touchdown. That’s the third time he’s done that this season, which is nuts.
The Buckeyes now lead 7-3, and will try to hang out before halftime. It just might be the momentum they need to start to turn this game around.
