The Big Ten and their TV partners announced early Sunday morning that next weekend’s Ohio State game in the Washington D.C. area will be a 3:30 p.m. kickoff on ESPN.
Maryland, under first year head coach (and former Michigan defensive coordinator) D.J. Durkin, has limped to a 5-4 record. With Rutgers bookending the Terps’ 2016 slate, bowl eligibility is still well within their grasp, even with hosting Urban Meyer and the Bucks and a road trip to Nebraska the following weekend looming. With tons of OSU alums based in the D.C.-Maryland-Virginia area expected in attendance at Maryland Stadium, however, the Terrapins should be particularly motivated.
The last time the two teams met just north of our nation’s capital, the Bucks would shake off an inconsistent start en route to a 52-24 victory over Maryland and then head coach Randy Edsall. In addition to having coached with Jim Harbaugh during his first season at Michigan, Durkin was also a former assistant under Urban Meyer at Florida.
