A year after heading to Florida Atlantic's Boca Raton campus for a one day satellite campus, Urban Meyer and co. are reportedly at it again.
According to 1010 XL in Jacksonville, FL's Frank Frangie, Meyer's Buckeyes are exploring hosting a satellite camp at Jacksonville University this summer. Frangie's colleague Amanda Borges, also a digital video personality for Gridiron Now, later tweeted a more definitive statement as though the camp was further along than simply being looked into. The latter outlet also published an article with similarly more concrete language citing Frangie.
Meyer's been on the record as not being in favor of satellite camps from a philosophical vantage, but has also conceded that coaching in college football is a bit of a copycat game.
Michigan last summer held a series of 10 such camps in a so-called "Summer Swarm" tour last offseason. The NCAA is presently still reviewing whether to allow such practices as well as investigating changing rules that will allow Michigan to hold part of their spring practices at a football factory high school in the Sunshine State.
