The Ohio State Buckeyes got better on Sunday from an unexpected source.
Hailing from a small Texas town around halfway between Austin and Houston called La Grange -- the very same one that inspired the Z.Z. Top song of the same name -- all purpose back/athlete J.K. Dobbins announced on Twitter Sunday afternoon his intentions to play for Ohio State after he finishes high school. The 5'10, 200 pound athlete's currently the fourth best All-Purpose Back nationally and the seventh best player in the 2017 recruiting class from the state. Also per the 247Sports Composite rankings, he's currently the 62nd best player in the country.
Early 247Sports Crystal Ball predictions had pegged Dobbins to end up at his home state University of Texas. With a lot of time between now and National Signing Day '17, OSU will likely to have hold off the usual list of suspects including the Longhorns, Texas A&M Aggies, and Oklahoma Sooners to keep Dobbins' pledge.
