Former Ohio State defensive line great Will Smith tragically lost his life over the weekend. The ensuing aftermath has caused reactions from many in and around pro football to his former college coaches Jim Tressel and Mark Dantonio and even LeBron James.
Urban Meyer said at media availability yesterday that the team had a moment of silence and used the situations that culminated in Smith's tragedy as an educational experience for the student athletes.
On Tuesday, Ohio State athletic director Gene Smith announced the team would more directly honor Smith's memory during this coming Saturday's Buckeye spring game.
The team will wear 'WS' decals on their helmets as well have a moment of silence in Ohio Stadium before the game gets underway. Here's what the decals will look like:
