Ohio State shocks No. 1 BYU to win the men's volleyball national championship

Go Bucks!

Ohio State athletics

It took five years, but Ohio State now has another national championship to celebrate. After just three sets (32-30, 25-23, and 25-17), the Buckeyes were able to dispatch the No. 1 seeded BYU Cougars inside Recreation Hall on the campus of Penn State.

Nicolas Szerszen, the sensational Frenchman, set the table for Buckeyes title win helping the Bucks dominate the Cougs in the serve-receive battle throughout the evening. The MIVA player of the year as well as national player of the year got the Buckeyes to the championship game with a game-winning service ace against No. 2 UCLA on Thursday night.

This marks the second national title for Ohio State and long time head coach Pete Hanson. Hanson and the Bucks won a national title in the same building on the same date in 2011.

Congrats to the Buckeyes on making history once again.
