Ohio State’s 2016 home opener to kick off at noon

We now have a time for the first game in the 'Shoe.

We already knew that the Ohio State Buckeyes football season was going to kick off on September 3 at Ohio Stadium against the Bowling Green Falcons, but we now have a time for the first game of the season.

In 80 days, the Buckeyes and Falcons will kick off at noon eastern time. The game will air on the Big Ten Network. The two teams have faced each other four other times, with the Buckeyes winning all four previous contests. The last time the two faced was in 2006, when the Buckeyes won by a 35-7 margin under Jim Tressel.

The Falcons went 10-4 last season, with two wins against Big Ten opponents on the road in Maryland and Purdue. The Buckeyes will look to keep their win streak against in-state teams alive, with their last loss coming back in 1921 against Oberlin College.

We still have a lot of offseason left, but this helps the season feel that much closer.

Go Bucks.
