Ohio State commit Tanner Laczynski selected by Philadelphia Flyers in sixth round

Future Ohio State forward Tanner Laczynski was finally selected by the Philadelphia Flyers with the 169th selection in the 2016 NHL Draft. The forward was predicted to go in the 5th or 6th round after being ranked No. 99 among North American skaters by NHL Central Scouting.

The Shorewood, Illinois native played his USHL hockey for the Chicago Steel, until he was dealt to the Lincoln Stars in February of this year. He had 46 points in 47 games in his first full season for Chicago, and had a breakout 2015-16 campaign where he scored 24 goals and 63 points in 52 games between Chicago and Lincoln.

The future Buckeye forward will be joining the Ohio State hockey team in the Fall of 2016 and will look to provide a freshman scoring boost a la Mason Jobst last season. You can read more about Tanner with our pre-draft profile here.
