Buckeyes fifth-year senior running back Bri’onte Dunn was dismissed by the football team Monday.
“Bri’onte Dunn has been dismissed from the Ohio State football program for a violation of team rules,” OSU head coach Urban Meyer said in a statement.
Dunn, a Canton, OH native, had one season of eligibility remaining. Dunn hailed originally from Canton’s GlenOak high school. He graduated from Ohio State with a degree in sport industry this past May.
A petition for a Civil Protection Order naming Dunn was filed in the Franklin County Court of Common Pleas on Monday. Civil Protection Orders are customarily issued as a means to protect victims of domestic violence.
A prominent display on the wall at the Buckeyes’ Woody Hayes Athletic Center, where the football team meets and works out, lists “treat women with respect” as one of five program core values.
