There isn’t a question as to who Urban Meyer and company consider Ohio State’s leaders to be, at least not at this point in the season. And now, three of those names will be representing the Buckeyes at the upcoming Big Ten Media Days.
Ohio State will send quarterback J.T. Barrett, center Pat Elfein and linebacker Raekwon McMillan, the conference announced today. All three will be captains for Ohio State football this fall, and have been singled out by the coaching staff for their leadership qualities.
Big Ten Media Day is typically a senior-heavy event conference-wide, but Ohio State’s tiny class, not to mention the importance of Barrett and McMillan to this year’s team in particular, may have helped Ohio State decide to deviate from the norm a little bit by selecting two non-seniors.
Big Ten Media Days will be held in Chicago on July 25 and 26. All three players, along with Urban Meyer, will be available for interviews.
