Full Ohio State men’s basketball 2016-2017 schedule released

The Buckeyes will have plenty of chances to get the wins they need to get back into the Big Dance.

Earlier in May, Ohio State released their non-conference basketball schedule for this year, a slate that’s highlighted by high profile games against basketball blue-bloods like UConn and UCLA.

Now, we know the entirety of Ohio State’s schedule, as the Big Ten released their conference schedule this afternoon.

Ohio State will open Big Ten play on New Year’s Day, when they hit the road to face Illinois. The full slate can be found below:

Jan 1 at Illinois

Jan 5 Purdue

Jan 8 at Minnesota

Jan 12 at Wisconsin

Jan 15 Michigan State

Jan 18 at Nebraska

Jan 22 Northwestern

Jan 25 Minnesota

Jan 28 at Iowa

Jan 31 Maryland

Feb 4 at Michigan

Feb 8 Rutgers

Feb 11 at Maryland

Feb 14 at Michigan State

Feb 18 OR 19 Nebraska

Feb 23 Wisconsin

Feb 28 at Penn State

March 4 Indiana

Basketball season is a long way away, but it would appear that the four game stretch in February where the Buckeyes must play both Michigan schools, plus Maryland, on the road will loom particularly large. The schedule doesn’t start especially forgiving either, as Ohio State will have to play three of their first four games on the road.

The Buckeyes will face Minnesota, Michigan State, Maryland, Nebraska and Wisconsin twice.
