That’s a pretty good start to a season.

Ohio State has high hopes for their offense this season, despite the fact that it features an awful lot of new faces. If their production this season is anything close to how potent the unit was against Bowling Green, they’re going to be more than just fine.

Ohio State didn’t just have a productive afternoon against Bowling Green. Despite playing multiple true freshman, the Buckeyes broke their school record for total yards in a game.

The previous record? 718, recorded against Mt. Union back in 1930. The Buckeyes won that game 59-0, en route to a 5-2-1 season. This was back when Ohio State still played teams like Ohio Wesleyan and Kenton. It was a very long time ago, and things have changed since then.

The Buckeyes have J.T. Barrett to thank for the explosion, as he threw for 349 yards and six touchdowns, while running for another 30 yards and a score. Mike Weber also ran for 136 yards in his Buckeye debut.
