Ohio State vs. Nebraska 2017: Start time, live stream, TV schedule and Game Thread

The Buckeyes head to Lincoln for the first time since 2011.

NCAA Football: Wisconsin at Nebraska Bruce Thorson-USA TODAY Sports

The Ohio State Buckeyes put on quite a show for homecoming last weekend, knocking off Maryland, 62-14. Despite controversial targeting calls, the defense appeared just short of flawless, recording six sacks and 12 tackles for loss on the day. The offense, likewise, was firing on all cylinders, with quarterback J.T. Barrett throwing for 261 yards and three touchdowns on the day before being relieved by Dwayne Haskins in the second half.

Now, the Buckeyes head to Lincoln, Neb., to face a somewhat-deflated Nebraska team. The Huskers are 3-3 on the year and, with a loss to No. 7 Wisconsin, have a long road ahead in the Big Ten. While the famed “Blackshirts” defense allowed 38 points against the Badgers last week, they do possess a strong linebacking corps, which may be their best hope of slowing Ohio State’s offense. On the other side of the ball, quarterback Tanner Lee, a transfer from Tulane, has had 11 touchdowns on the season to go along with 10 picks. And rushers combined have accounted for just eight touchdowns. Even so, Lee has his moments, and may be able to find a downfield threat versus a secondary that hasn’t truly been tested since the Buckeyes’ loss to Oklahoma.

Ohio State has won its last two meetings (including a 62-3 romp last season) with the Huskers after losing a heartbreaker in Lincoln in 2011 during Braxton Miller’s freshman season. This matchup will be the Buckeyes’ first trip back to Nebraska since that fateful visit.
