Penn State-Ohio State headlines a Week 9 afternoon of ranked matchups

Here’s the full slate of college football games this weekend.

NCAA Football: UNLV at Ohio State Joe Maiorana-USA TODAY Sports

The main event on Saturday is the 3:30 p.m. showdown between the No. 2 Penn State Nittany Lions and No. 6 Ohio State Buckeyes for, not only top spot in the Big Ten East division — along with Michigan State, somehow --, but for a chance to control their destiny heading into the College Football Playoff.

Aside from arguably one of the best matchups of the entire season taking place in Columbus, there are three other top-25 games and at least one SEC game with big upset potential. Your best option in the Noon time-slot is No. 11 Oklahoma State at No. 22 West Virginia, with No. 4 TCU-No. 25 Iowa State and No. 14 NC State-No. 9 Notre Dame competing for the afternoon audience.

Another 3:30 p.m. game that could get interesting is No. 3 Georgia vs an unranked Florida team. While the Bulldogs sit undefeated, anything can happen during rivalry games, and this has the potential to shake up the top of the rankings heading into the first official College Football Playoff rankings, to be released on Tuesday.
