The Buckeyes made another jump thanks to a win on Saturday and an Oklahoma loss.

Ohio State had a big 62-14 win over conference opponent Maryland on Saturday, and the latest polls have the Buckeyes on the rise. Thanks to the Week 6 win, Urban Meyer -- and his questionable special teams group — now sit in the No. 9 spot.

The former No. 3 ranked Oklahoma losing at home — sweet, sweet irony — to an unranked Iowa State team, was just the beginning to a wild weekend for college football. The Sooners made a big fall to No. 12 following the loss.

In the Big Ten, Penn State kept their top spot, moving up to No. 3 with a win over Northwestern. And Michigan took a big drop after losing at home to unranked Michigan State, landing at No. 17 — add letting the Spartans squeak into the rankings at No. 21. The other big news out of the conference was the Wisconsin win against Nebraska, leaving the Badgers up a few spots to No. 7.

We included Bill Connelly’s S&P+ Ratings because the Buckeyes usurped the Crimson Tide for the No. 1 spot. Ohio State might not make the top spot in either of the other weekly polls, but at least they take the lead in one.

There were several other big shake-ups in this weeks Coaches and AP Polls, below.
