On Monday, the Big Ten Conference announced that Ohio State redshirt junior forward Keita Bates-Diop had been named the league’s men’s basketball Player of the Week. Over the past seven day, Bates-Diop led the Buckeyes to two victories, first overcoming a 20-point deficit to beat conference foe the Michigan Wolverines, 71-62, and then in a non-conference battle against the William & Mary Tribe, 97-62.

Against TTUN, Bates-Diop led all scorers with 18 while also recording nine rebounds. Against the Tribe, he was also the game’s top-scorer, this time notching 27 to go with five boards. The point total served as his career high.

The Ohio State Buckeyes (8-3, 2-0) currently sit at the top of the Big Ten standings after just two games, along with Michigan State and Purdue. They will return to the floor on Saturday, Dec. 16 at 6 p.m. ET against the Appalachian State Mountaineers. The game will be broadcast on the Big Ten Network from the Value City Arena in Columbus.
