Ohio State didn’t have to venture too far for one of the best defenders in the country, as Toledo, (OH) outside linebacker Dallas Gant signed his LOI today, and is now officially a Buckeye.
Listed at 6’3, 225 pounds, Gant is the fifth rated player in the state of Ohio per the 247Sports Composite, and is rated as the ninth-best outside linebacker and 157th overall prospect in the class of 2018.

Gant committed to Ohio State this past May, and chose the Buckeyes over the likes of Michigan, Michigan State, Notre Dame, and Penn State.

Scouting Report
Dallas Gant is a freak athlete playing linebacker. The 6’3, 225-pound outside linebacker is just the type of defender who shines in today’s college football. He makes plays sideline-to-sideline with ease and often uses his athleticism as a blitzer. He’s quick to sniff out perimeter runs and makes a ton of plays in the backfield. Gant has the athleticism to play some special teams as a freshman and will eventually see his way onto the field as he gains more experience.
