On the Banks of the Olentangy
Sevyn Banks (Orlando, FL / Jones) was in Columbus over the weekend for the spring game, and according to an article on Scout.com, the visit went well and Banks called Urban Meyer “the coolest legend ever.”

Banks, a four-star cornerback in the 2018 class from Orlando, holds 23 total offers and is ranked a top 50 player in the state of Florida. Ohio State is now, arguably, the top destination for highly ranked defensive backs who want to be selected near the top rounds of the NFL Draft. The Buckeyes brought in an excellent haul of cornerbacks in 2017, so they can afford to be very picky in that area. Banks has the measurables that coaches covet for a corner as he stands at a lengthy 6-foot-1.
It’ll be tough to win out over the Florida schools, but Ohio State has become a more national brand than ever before. Expect the Buckeyes to keep recruiting Banks and try and get him on campus again before his senior year.
Just a state over
2019 offensive lineman Doug Nester (Huntington, WV / Spring Valley) was also in Columbus last weekend and according to reports, the visit went well and Ohio State is now one is his “top choices.”

Nester is just recently starting to see his recruitment take off as he now has 11 offers— a handful of them coming from the last month or so. Including an offer from Ohio State, Nester also holds notable offers from Florida, Tennessee, Ole Miss and West Virginia.
247Sports has Nester as a four-star prospect and the No.49 ranked player overall in his class. Greg Studrawa has taken the lead in this recruitment and has helped the Buckeyes in the pursuit of landing the 6-foot-6 offensive tackle. Ohio State would like to get Nester to camp sometime this summer in order to evaluate him on a more personal level on the football field.
