Ohio State’s big recruiting weekend ended with the Buckeyes landing a verbal pledge from one of their recent visitors.
Shutting down his recruitment in favor of suiting up for Urban Meyer, Larry Johnson and the rest of the rockstar group of assistant coaches at OSU, five-star defensive tackle Taron Vincent decided enough was enough and committed to Ohio State over the Seminoles of Florida State University, and many other national powerhouse programs on Sunday evening.
Not just one of the defensive line recruits in the country, Vincent is also considered one of the top prospects the 2018 class has to offer. The fifth senior-to-be to jump at the chance to play for the Buckeyes, the 6-foot-2 285-pounder is currently pegged as the first defensive tackle, and 14th overall, per the 247Sports Composite Rankings.
While Glenville High in Cleveland was once pegged as an OSU pipeline, IMG Academy (FL) is starting to take their spot. Vincent will join former Ascenders Malik Barrow, Marcus Williamson and Isaiah Pryor on the Buckeyes roster.

Buckeyes host standout recruits
Meyer and the Ohio State coaching staff have been hard at work trying to get this year’s crop of Buckeyes ready for the season, but that doesn’t mean they’re taking time off from searching for future stars to bring into the fold.
With most high schools stepping away from class for spring break, it’s given many of the Buckeyes top targets a chance to visit Columbus. This weekend was no different.
When most of us were trying to make plans with our family and friends, Ohio State had numerous highly sought after prospects on campus.
Walking away from the OSU campus highly impressed with the staff and program as a whole, below are some of the recruits the Buckeyes showed around the 614.
