Henry down to ten

Coming into Wednesday, Ohio State currently has a class that features just one five-star prospect in 2018 defensive tackle Taron Vincent of IMG Academy. While the same remains true today, the Buckeyes did receive optimistic news in regards to another five-star standout in the cycle that they have their sights on.

KJ Henry, the nation’s No. 2 weak-side defensive end, revealed his top 10 list. Surely, defensive line coach Larry Johnson and the rest of the Ohio State staff are happy with the Scarlet and Gray's inclusion.

As you can see in the tweet above, the Buckeyes will have some stiff competition in the race for the West Forsyth (NC) standout — and even some surprising competition as well. Henry has narrowed his list of 28 offers down to Alabama, Charlotte, Clemson, Georgia, Louisville, Penn State, Pittsburgh, South Carolina, Virginia Tech and of course, Ohio State.

According to the 247Sports Crystal Ball, Clemson is the overwhelming favorite to ultimately land the services of Henry. The Buckeyes and any of the other eight programs on the list have plenty of time to make up some ground.

Whoever Henry ultimately does sign with on National Signing Day 2018 will obviously be landing one of the very best high school seniors in the country. Henry is currently slotted as the 20th highest graded player overall and the second best player from the state of North Carolina.

Kradel gets Buckeye offer

Switching to the offensive side of the ball, '18 offensive guard Jake Kradel of Butler Area (PA) received some good news on Wednesday when Ohio State jumped into his recruitment by dropping him an offer.

Kradel is a 6-foot-4, 290-pounder that now has 21 offers under his belt. Ohio State is undoubtedly the biggest offer that the three-star has secured thus far. Other schools that have already joined the offer party for Kradel include Maryland, N.C. State, Pittsburgh, Rutgers and West Virginia

Unsurprisingly, a host of 247Sports Crystal Ball forecasts instantly came in in favor of the Buckeyes. Kradel was most recently in Columbus about two weeks ago checking out the campus. We will see if Ohio State can pull this one out.

Weekend visit for Mitchell

It looks like the Buckeyes will be rolling out the red carpet this weekend as one of the best linebackers in the country is scheduled to be on campus.

That's right. Heading up from Virginia Beach, Va. will be '18 inside linebacker Teradja Mitchell. The 6-foot-2, 232-pounder included Ohio State in his top 11 back on Feb. 1. Obviously both parties view each other in a positive light and the Bucks have a massive opportunity to make that light shine even brighter in the coming days.

Mitchell, who holds offers from the best of the best, is a top 25 player overall in the class. In addition to that, he comes in holding the top spot in the state of Virginia and the No. 2 spot amongst inside linebackers.
