Ohio State basketball to face Clemson in Big Ten/ACC Challenge

Good news! They’ll probably score this time.

If you’re upset about the way Ohio State’s last battle with Clemson turned out, good news! The Buckeyes will get another crack at them.

Just not the football team.

The matchups for the Big Ten/ACC Challenge were announced today, and the Buckeyes will face the Clemson Tigers at home. Date, time and exact network are all TBA.

Clemson finished 17-16 last season, and was ranked 46th in the final KenPom rankings. They didn’t fare quite as well in the final RPI, (75), although that was still higher than Ohio State’s No. 92 rating.

Clemson should complete the big name games on Ohio State’s out of conference schedule. The Buckeyes will face North Carolina in New Orleans, and will also open against Gonzaga in massive PK80 tournament. After Gonzaga, the Buckeyes will play either Florida or Stanford, and then either Duke, Butler, Texas, or Portland State.

Additional non-conference games will include William & Mary, Miami (OH), Robert Morris and The Citadel.

That will give Ohio State plenty of RPI chances to build their profile before Big Ten conference play.

Now, if we only knew who was actually going to coach the team next year...
