We now know who Ohio State’s head basketball coach is going to be (SPOILER: it’s Chris Holtmann), but we don’t know exactly what’s going to happen with the assistant coaches. But if one national report is right, at least one is likely to make the trip from Indy to Columbus.
According to Jon Rothstein, Butler assistant Mike Schrage is likely joining the Buckeyes.
Mike Schrage is expected to be a part of Chris Holtmann's staff at Ohio State, per a source. Schrage was an assistant at Butler last season.

Schrage (pronounced “SHRAWG-ee” according to his bio on Butler’s website) has an impressive background. He has Midwestern ties, as an Indiana graduate, but also worked as an assistant at Stanford under Johnny Dawkins from 2008-2016. At Stanford, he served as recruiting coordinator, helping bring in 16 Top 100 players, including Chasson Randle from Illinois.
Prior to Stanford, Schrage was the Director of Basketball Operations at Duke. So he’s had a chance to learn from the best in the business.
This addition should give the Buckeyes another shot in the arm on the recruiting trail, and additional leadership.
