Former Ohio State star linebacker Raekwon McMillan was sidelined during his first NFL preseason game with a right knee injury after punt coverage. It’s being reported that he has torn his ACL and is expected to miss the remainder of his rookie season with the Miami Dolphins.

McMillan was drafted at No. 54 overall in the 2017 NFL Draft and was expected to be a starter to begin his rookie season. After an impressive spring and an equally impressive training camp, he was primed to be a big contributor for the Dolphins’ defense. The linebacker is building off a three-year Ohio State career, one that included 275 total tackles (18.0 for loss), 6.0 sacks and a pick-6.

The Buckeye was a fan favorite on and off the field, and he’ll keep that reputation at the next level. Even though he won’t be able to contribute as expected on the field, he’ll still be a valuable asset to the Dolphins’ locker room.
